Food

>>THE DOMESTICATED SIDE OF ME>>

This is my other passion... food! I love food and enjoy working on them too! It's been a while since the last time I cooked with my bf... Yes, we both love to cook and really enjoy doing it together. However, since we don't live together (not yet anyway ;)), I have to get myself busy in my little kitchen without anyone to harass.

Here was the sushi I made the other day when I felt like having some without having to visit a Japanese restaurant. I do this quite often and I think I'm getting the hang of it. My bf was impressed with how I rolled them the first time I did it on my own. My favourite is smoked salmon sushi... I could eat it everyday!

Presenting... My home made sushi!

Are you into cooking as well?
What would be your speciality?

YUM sis!! I love that! you made lots!!! you need to share!!!! waaaahhh! hungry hungry!!!

I am into cooking, but I am more into chinese food, but I think people don't like my cooking because...
1. i don't use a lot of cooking oil.
2. I don't use much salt
3. so..it tastes blah..lol

I guess I grew up with Health conscious family, who don't use MSG...so imagine..Chinese food with lesser oil and NO MSG? you imagine? lol

>>Nikki>> Sis, you're doing the right thing. I wish I could do that although I try to use minimal salt in my cooking. Sushis would be great for you though as they don't need salt nor oil in them. It can be as simple as Japanese rice, sushi seasoning vinegar, caster sugar and whatever you may want in it i.e. cucumber or carrots :)

>>Shen>> Ha ha ha! Sis, I find cooking really therapeutic believe it or not. I can do a 3 course meal if it's only for upto 4 people, for now anyway as I've only got a little kitchen ha ha ha! A couple of years ago, I was intimidated to cook anything from recipe books because of how lengthy they are but by starting with simple ones, I was able to build my confident up. If you haven't got Mary Berry or Vicki Liley's 'Complete Book for Wook Cooking', they're both worth trying as they have great recipes in them and are easy to follow.

I'll be more than happy to show you how to roll sushi when we meet ha ha ha! You can impress your mom and your bf then ;)
